It has accepted my validation , but when I try to launch it freezes. They’ve given me a temporary validation number, it won’t work either. Waiting for help with that now. But what I do have happening that no one else has mentioned is when I try more than once to launch Quark I get a descending transparent red curtain that totally freezes the computer when it reaches the bottom of the screen.

Any ideas on that? We noticed that on a few new Macs some Firewire devices return a negative number where we expect a zero or positive value.

We will have a patch soon, until then you cannot activate QuarkXPress on these models with these devices. Here is the patch they came out with… Quark XPress 8.
