A remote server that to which I was logged in through the finder went down its icon was still on the desktop. Even after I turned off DF from the control panel and relaunched the finder, the window was hanging there and any function of DF didn’t work.

Despite having all these features, it lacks the simple need for app-specific favorites. Now I have to dig into a mess of favorite folders that I cannot even organize. The app feels slow and bogs down slower macs. Do this instead: create a folder called App Favorites in your home folder, drag this to the favorites bar, preferably high up in the list.

Then add aliases into this folder for every folder you need to quickly get to. You can either have a long list of unorganized folders, or you can create subfolders for specific apps, or make a sorted list with a prefix in every name connected to the intended app. This method is smoother, quicker, cheaper and won’t bog down your mac one tiny little bit. I’ll give the app 2 stars for the default folder feature which is nice but still kind of useless since most apps handle this nicely themselves.

A remote server that to which I was logged in through the finder went down its icon was still on the desktop. Even after I turned off DF from the control panel and relaunched the finder, the window was hanging there and any function of DF didn’t work. I had to logout-login to resolve this problem. When you open a file, select a file in Open sheet and hit Space bar to preview the file while you are still in the Open sheet.

I use tags in file names, so it’s relatively quick to narrow down my choices with a few keywords. I also use Spotlight search to instantly locate a folder while I’m in Open and Save sheet. I drag and drop a folder icon from Spotlight popup to Open and Save sheet, and it will jump straight to that folder. To me, effective usage of the stock OS functionalities and proper naming of folders render this utility unnecessary.
