I will leave that up to you to discover. This game is visually alive. Naughty Dog has put some effort into creating a rich, finely detailed world that feels alive, from the butterflies that pass through the scenes to the images carved into the rocks that and reflections on the ice.

It’s almost a shame that, for the most part, you are racing past these images without having the time to really take them in. The extra little details really make this game, like the multitude of facial expressions that Crash wears as he meets his death over and over again. The graphics are sharp and colorful.

The animation is smooth and seamless. Crash Bandicoot 2 is a very entertaining game. The superior graphics, playability and soundtrack made this a game that I found myself enjoying for hours on end. The level of difficulty increases slowly but enough to keep the game continually challenging. I heartily recommend this game, especially if you are a fan of the original Crash Bandicoot , because everything that you liked about the first game and more can be found in the sequel. Cortex takes refuge in an underground cavern. New perks this time include a wild ride astride a polar bear and a jet pack level that requires you to move in all six directions. The beta version looked and played solid, particularly the improved animation and support for the analog controller. Fans of the crazy coot won’t want to miss this one. Even as Crash Bandicoot: Warped, the third game in the Crash series, hits the market, the Bandicoot is striking back retroactively thanks to the release of his second game as a PlayStation Classic.

For less than the price you’d pay for a pair of the coot’s sneakers, you can now enjoy spinning your way past aggres sive turtles and mean-spirited seals while you amass crystals in order to save world from a truly unpleasant fate. Like some deranged Adam mad for apples, you can re-experience the great graphics, concise control, and upbeat gameplay of this instant golden oldie.

As you might expect, Crash 2 is incredible. The list of positives outweighs the negatives by leaps and bounds. First you have the graphics. They’re easily in the top 10 best on the PlayStation. They’re super sharp, colorful and have no awkward break-up. The animation is flawless in both the game and the cinemas. The cinemas are probably some of the best in-game cut scenes I’ve seen by in-game cut scenes I mean cinemas that use regular game graphics and not FMV.

Not only do they look good, they sound good. Needless to say, the voice booms The graphic effects Naughty Dog put together are awesome. The reflections, lighting effects and realtime bump that forms on the ground texture when Crash burrows underground are awesome. I like the Warp Room concept that they implemented–much more fun than going from level to level on an island.

The challenge level has been turned up on Crash 2, but in no way does it get annoying. It’s like an old-school action game-you us want to keep coming back to it even though It’s hard.

Bad points? I thought the control could have been a bit tighter. The analog pad makes it easier though. Crash’s I victory dance got old after a while. I’m always hearing around the office, didn’t like the first one but Crash 2 is awesome! To me. Crash 2 is fundamentally the same as the original.

Not to say that that’s bad, however; I liked the first one a lot. A few cool extras are in the sequel, namely vehicles, new Bosses, great FMV and better level design although some sections are repetitive. Crash 2 is a great piece of work, but it’s not exactly a brand-new playing experience. Crash Bandicoot 2 is a huge improvement over the first Crash game. Some of the new animations are hilarious, the game is less linear than its predecessor, and the graphics are just spectacular the best I’ve ever seen on the PlayStation, period.
